The 2-d visualization of BMW Art Car series. By mapping these cars alongside the artists who made them, the team's goal was to identify trends and thereby realize an overall point of view for what is one of BMW's more creative and open-ended projects. The data was pulled from New York Times online using our custom search query system.

- Lifespan - from his birth to the death
- Completion Year - the completion of his BMW art car, which we can see on the right it was BMW 635 csi
- Notoriety Index - we've called Notoriety index , which is the visual system we developed to show how well these artists are represented in the press. Right now the data is pulled from the New York Times which we thought the great representation for the type of international highly respected source that we are looking for.
- At the beginning of the index, we see a mark on the timeline, which signified the first time these artists were cited in the article. And these bars grow as the number of citations of the artist increases.
- Superimposed over the artists timelines is our average age line.
This line highlights the ages at which each artist completed their art car.
It then through the vertical signifies the trend in the average age of the artists as they completed the work. To understand the placement, consider that the present is the origin (0), and from there the age increased as the timeline moves left.
